How to make Kadai Paneer

Kadai Paneer is a favorite dish for parties and family get-togethers.

It is very easy to make,

Kadai is a hindi word for a rounded pan.

Paneer is hindi word for cottage cheese.

You can get Paneer packet from any Indian grocery store.

Ingredients

  1. 400 gms paneer(you can find it at local Indian grocery store)
  2. 3 medium size green pepper or capsicum( chopped into square pieces)
  3. 2 cans tomato sauce
  4. I teaspoon cumin seed
  5. 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  6. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  7. 1/8 th cup dry methi leaves.
  8. ¼ th cup sugar
  9. 1/8 th cup lemon juice.
  10. 3 teaspoon kadai paneer powder.

Salt to taste

½ cup oil.

Direction

  1. Cut paneer into small pieces saute them till they are light brown in a nonstick pan.
  2. Take the cooked paneer out in a bowl of hot water leave it for sometime.
  3. Heat oil in a non stick pan.
  4. Add cumin seed to it.
  5. Add tomato sauce cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Add chopped capsicum saute for some time.
  7. Add all the spices , salt and dry methi leaves.
  8. Add paneer(squeeze the water) than cook for couple of minutes.
  9. Add sugar and lemon juice.
  10. Serve hot.
